The Mission

The mission of the California Artist Coalition of Los Angeles (CACLA) is to act as a support system for local visual artists.  CACLA efforts are dedicated to serving targeted communities and the visual artists who live and work in those communities.

CACLA is an service-oriented, community accessible artist's advocate organization, whose goal is to build relationships among local artists, art enthusiast, the business community and other stakeholders in the public and private sectors.  We strive to work cohesively to benefit the whole community.
  • We place a strong emphasis on exposing artist to job opportunities, such as "call to artists", "artist submissions" and other funding opportunities, as highlighted in our Job Bank, which is circulated to our membership on a regularly basis.  See Job Bank list on CACLA web site:  www.cacla2006.org .  We keep our membership informed of and/or submit proposals on behalf of our artists on public art projects as well as grant opportunities for artists under the CACLA administration.

  • We provide information to our membership on community workshops, exhibition opportunities, as well as public policy information on the local, state and federal level.  We distribute information on galleries and museum openings. We publicize our monthly general meetings and other information of interest to the arts community.

  • We promote our CACLA youth art programs by collaborating with art centers, museums and schools through our roster of elite artists and master teachers.

  • We provide artist opportunities for media exposure via various media outlets.

  • We identify non traditional revenue streams for artist and the CACLA organization.
